  • Erika Wilson

    Managing Director Wilson Power Solutions

    Erika Wilson is joint Managing Director of Leeds based transformer manufacturer, Wilson Power Solutions. With a wealth of experience in both power engineering and business development, Erika is a regular speaker at leading industry events and board member of BEAMA, principal trade organisation representing manufacturers of electrical infrastructure products. Erika joined the family business straight after school during which she studied electrical & electronic engineering and later gained a qualification in business and finance. Erika has played an integral part in the development of WPS pioneering amorphous core transformers and is passionate about reducing energy wastage in power distribution networks and emerging technologies.

  • David Williams

    Vice President – Transactional Business, UK&I

    David leads Schneider Electric’s Home & Distribution and Power Products businesses to support the end-to-end needs of customers and channel partners across the UK & Ireland zone. Since joining Schneider Electric in 2011, he has honed his skills across a variety of business units, including Solar, Smart Buildings, Digital Power Solutions and Power Products. Prior to taking up the role of VP of Transactional Business at the start of 2023, he was VP of Marketing with a remit that included setting and executing business and marketing strategy, driving employee engagement, and managing commercial activities across the UK&I zone. David is passionate about working in partnership with customers and industry partners, telling the sustainability and energy efficiency story, inspiring high-tech industry innovation, and enabling positive business change.

  • Kaushak Patel

    Group Director Secure Meters (UK) Ltd

    Kaushak brings over 35 years of experience in energy management and smart metering systems, with a career spanning both the UK and international markets. As a seasoned industry leader, he has played a key role in shaping the smart energy landscape through active collaboration with government bodies, regulators, and other stakeholders—particularly in the rollout of smart meters in Great Britain and the broader transition towards net zero. Secure has been a proud member of BEAMA for over 20 years, during which Kaushak has made significant contributions by participating in various technical forums and committees. His expertise and strategic insight continue to support the development of the association and the advancement of the sector.

  • Spencer Clarke

    Commercial Managing Director, Glen Dimplex

    At Dimplex we have over 75 years’ experience in the electrification of heat and hot water, as well as ventilation through our Xpelair brand. As a UK manufacturer of thermal storage, heat pumps and direct-acting heaters, we are fully committed to the net-zero journey and are technology agnostic - which aligns perfectly with the work of BEAMA. I’m really excited to be joining the BEAMA board and working to help drive the electrification agenda to decision makers across industry and government.”

  • Dai Richards

    Director External Affairs, Hitachi Energy

    Dai Richards is an engineering graduate of Cambridge University, a Chartered Engineer and a Chartered Marketer Dai began his career in the chemical industry, working for ICI in a number of operational and project management roles. In 2001 Dai joined ABB as a technical consultant working across a range of industry sectors, both in the UK and inter-nationally. He then went on to hold a number of senior commercial and marketing roles before moving into public affairs and Government relations. When Hitachi Energy was created in July 2020 Dai moved into his current role working on energy policy and energy sector market and technology development. Key areas of focus including the energy transition, delivering net-zero, offshore grids and the decarbonisation of transport.

  • Sean Smith

    Managing Director – Michael Smith Switchgear Ltd

    Sean is an experienced engineer and director who is leading the drive towards modernisation in making his industry attractive for future workforces. He joined Michael Smith Switchgear in 2004, spending his first three years working his way from the workshop through to the engineering team. After gaining his qualifications as an electrical and electronic engineer, he became a Director at Michael Smith Switchgear in 2011. A year later he was made Managing Director. Since then, he has pushed the business forward as a standard-bearer for increased sustainability and safety standards in UK manufacturing. He led design changes and the testing programme for BS EN IEC 61439 and is the Chair of BEAMA’s ESPG Management Committee. Sean is also a member of its Low Voltage Switchboard Technical Committee. He led the management buyout of the business and oversaw the expansion into new premises which further accelerated the company’s growth, as well as that of its sister company AVW Fabrications. A trained mental health first aider, Sean has a keen interest in partnership working to increase opportunities and pathway into apprenticeships for future engineers. He was also a driving force behind Michael Smith Switchgear’s journey towards Zero Carbon.

  • Richard Earl

    Director of Research and Development at EO Charging

    Richard Earl is the Director of Research and Development at EO Charging. For the last 20 years, Richard has been working in the energy and automotive sectors across a number of engineering and leadership roles. Since studying Electrical and Electronic Engineering at university he has developed code for safety critical applications such as engine controllers, lead teams of software developers to develop large scale software applications managing millions of end points and he has managed cross functional teams to deliver several electronic products to the mass market. In his roles at EO Charging he has led the successful delivery and evolution of the Mini, Mini Pro and Genius families of electric vehicle charging stations along with the introduction of OCPP into the business. Two of the products that Richard has helped to deliver have received nominations for product innovation along with submission for patents. Richard is also the chair of the BEAMA EV Infrastructure Group helping the industry navigate the evolving regulatory landscape as EV infrastructure moves from niche to mass adoption.

  • Alun Thomas

    Director of Engineering - Nuaire

    Alun was appointed to the Board on 22 September 2025, bringing with him more than 20 years of proven engineering and commercial leadership across the building services and climate management sectors. He has a strong track record at director level, leading major digital transformation programmes and driving operational excellence. Alun is the Director of Engineering for Nuaire, a FTSE250 Genuit Group company and the largest entity in the Climate Management Solutions (CMS) division, responsible for the Quality, Innovation and Sustainability strategies. Earlier in his career, as Technical Director at Unico, Alun pioneered the deployment of renewable energy solutions, championing sustainability well before it became a mainstream policy. Alun is passionate about creating meaningful change by combining deep technical expertise with sharp business insight. He is widely recognised for shaping the future of the industry – whether through leading influential working groups, delivering innovative solutions, or mentoring the next generation of leaders. Alun has a B.Eng from the University of Stellenbosch, is a Chartered Engineer (ECUK) and member of the Institute of Engineering Designers (IED), where he was awarded the Kathbert Trophy for “significant contribution to design, commerce and society”. He is also formally trained in Risk Management, Lean Six Sigma and Industry 4.0 and has completed several advanced leadership programmes with Genuit Group and the Chartered Institute of Ma

    CIO - Chief Innovation Officer, Myenergi

    Lee Sutton is a green tech enthusiast and pioneering electronics engineer and entrepreneur who founded several businesses, including myenergi. With a passion for developing the next generation of revolutionary eco-smart home technologies and 20+ years of electronics engineering experience, he has led the development of several award-winning products in the renewable technology sector.
